App Review: Learning Verbs
I'm excited to bring you a new app review. This app is created by Language Concepts and is called Learning Verbs. The app focuses on expanding a student's knowledge of verbs.
The app is quite simple and easy to learn how to use. Opening the app will take you to the home page where you can select the cards you want to use, choose the enable text, audio, or feedback, and you can choose the number of cards shown during each round.
You can choose up to 22 verbs, but the best part of the app is you can create your own pictures! This is a great tool to use while pushing-in to a preschool classroom and having students act out each verb, creating a picture for each, and then reviewing the pictures at the end. How cool!
I think the app is very simple, but it's nice that there isn't a ton of flashy text or background images and colors.
One issue that I have with the app is that the pictures are stretched which distorts the image. Some of my students remarked on the pulling of the pictures, so it is definitely noticeable.
You can find this app in the iTunes App Store for $2.99. It is only compatible with the iPad and requires iOS 7.1 or later.
Overall, I would recommend this app for preschoolers and young students who are struggling with verbs. I really like that this app allows you to create your own pictures, and that was extremely motivating for my students.
Thanks for stopping by!
